Suspend much???

June 17th, 2008

My friend Shawn had me brand a pentagram 6.660 inches wide in the center of his back in mid 2006. You can see he had a few suspension scars when the brand was first completed. At the bottom is a healed photo of his brand taken this week two years old and you can see in two years he has suspended more times than I can count scars.shawn\'s brand

Larger Implants and Custom Work

June 17th, 2008

In May, I talked to Steve about the possibility of doing a large piece on both of my arms. It was a basis of taking current designs, hearts, and making one large piece. It is a newer concept that required molding my arms and silicone glueing and carving 7 hearts for each arm. It was a couple of days work just to get the pieces set to implant.

Steve dislikes doing large work like this. Higher risk level then the smaller work. With me it was a matter of seperating 7 square inches of skin on each arm. I am running a higher risk of nerve damage, amongst other obvious issues. I have had 16 implants from Steve previously, so this was a next step for me evolvement. I would never recommend doing large pieces first time around.

The concept of custom work was limited so much before because it was a matter of creating a custom mold for the individual. It was time consuming and expensive but now it is beginning to look more pratical. This is still time consuming, however a few days versus a few months is a big difference.

This heart design Steve and I collaborated on was the first of it’s kind and hopefully we will be able to do more soon. Keep in mind this size of work had me laid up for 4 days in extreme pain. I was not liking life. The pain was worth the outcome because my design is beginning to come through and in 6 months will be fully showing. For now they look like random lumps on my arms.

Larger implants and custom work like this is still experimental. I have lost a little sensation over the implants, but I think it will come back. I haven’t had any complications with them, that weren’t foreseen, like being in a lot of pain, leaving the stitches in longer then usual, the trial and error of figuring out the compression bandages, etc. Hopefully this will open up a new world of custom work and larger implants.

Updates from CooKie

June 16th, 2008

I have updated the page a little. Steve has been posting his blogs more then I can keep up! Surprising for a guy who doesn’t write too much. Now that New Hole is in production and The Flesh and Blood Movie is out we will be travelling a lot more and scheduling more appointments. It has been a year now since Junior died and he gave us a beautiful baby boy for a grandson. Now we seem to be getting back on track. I will soon update our travel plans and please feel free to email me if your interested in work via the contact page.

Still learning my way around this website and I recently posted an FAQ about the work and Steve. So I have no idea where this post will end up but I will have an idea in a second when I post it. Up coming events are San Fransisco and we will be touring parts of Europe in July.

Tasha, Steve’s daughter, turned 16 and got her tounge pierced for her birthday. For a girl who has taken to her fathers work, like a duck to water, she sure was a baby. Here is a peak into our home life.

Dirk from Naked Steel had obtained a set of tools from me and had the opportunity to sit in on a few pieces of work that I was commissioned to do.  The star that he put in her chest looks absolutely fabulous! He is sporting one of my trilobite T-shirts and on his web site I’m sporting one of his Betty T-shirts.

More transdermal facts

June 9th, 2008

So more on my transdermal rants. First I will show a picture of John Gomes he had transdermals for 11 years. After about two years he started to have on and off inflammation problems. After battling with them for the last nine years he had me removed them two months ago.John Gomes

Here is a picture of Hiro. The transdermal on his forehead are nine years old with no problems. His dual metal mohawk is five years old again no problems.Hiro

David Smith has had over 50 transdermal and had one rejection, the red arrow pointing to that rejection. If my math is right that’s 98 percent present and accounted for. The first ones are over 8 years old.David Smith

Sean O’Hare has four transdermals on his forehead that are four years old, no rejection.

JJ a musician in a band called SIL had his transdermal for four years before its was whacked by guitar onstage. This was a second generation transdermal. By the obvious condition it was necessary to remove it. Had it been a third generation transdermal I believe it would have withstood the blow but I had not yet modified transdermals to third generation at that time. Seeing this damage is what prompted me to modify the design.

Shawn had 2 2ga transdermals five years ago, still looking beautiful today.

Daniel had a dual row metal mohawk consisting of 14 transdermals and healed them and two months time with H2Ocean also 5 years old with no rejection.

A great man once said “liars figure but figures don’t lie” I never state my opinion as fact. That being said I will continue to post more about transdermal successes and failures. I have been working for a long time on a very detailed an extensive blog about the magnetic finger implants which will be coming soon detailing the exact facts about the great successes and a few failures revolving around that modification. That blog will be based solely on facts, not emotions, theories, conjectures or rumors.

More transdermals almost a decade old.

Fetish Prom 08 Suspension

June 4th, 2008

Life Suspended did a prom dance theme for Fetish PromBrandy and Vince amazed 1100 people in their ability to look graceful on a spinning beam.  Koz from 313 Suspension Team of Chicago came out for the show and helped.Fetish Prom 08

Funny irony.

We moved into our current house about six months ago and discovered a jackrabbit living in our front yard.  We are about 20 miles from any desert so I thought it was odd to have a desert dweller cohabitating with us.  Then I noticed that its right ear has been split, what are the odds of having a modified jackrabbit nesting next to a truck with a MODIFY license plate.Splity the jackrabbit.

Mercedes’s stars

June 4th, 2008

Mercedes who pierces at Club Tattoo had me brand star outlines from her ankle all the way to her wrist.  The five stars on her calf were done a week earlier and the rest were done that evening. One tough girl.Mercedes\'s stars

Jesse Star’s forehead work

June 4th, 2008

The first work I had ever done on Jesse Star were transdermals almost seven years ago. Then over the last few years we have done subcutaneous horns which are now at third generation. Jesse had cuttings done on his forehead multiple times but was not happy with the results so we did laser branding over the previous cuttings to get a much more distinct scar. The brandings actually start at the beginning of the forehead and end at the back of the neck. A little note on a transdermals, some people say that they reject 50 percent of the time. The ones that I have produced and installed so far seem to have about a 90 percent success rates. Apparently someone produced transdermals out of 303 stainless steel which contains lead that were installed by other artists which had caused a significant rejection rate. I would hate to think that people would include those rejection rates in reference to my work. As I run into other people who I have done transdermals on I will post pictures and clarify how long the transdermals have been in.
